Giulietta Spider Veloce
Project
The Spider is currently with a Texas collector who
bought the car 30 years ago. He never assembled it. I inventoried the parts May
2020 and herein are the photos. The car needs an easy assembly to make a “driver”.
If a concours level car is desired, some things will need to be finished
differently. I will outline my opinions as we go along and view the photos.

The car was painted 30 years ago. The body is
remarkably free of rust. The floors and trunk are quite sound and show no sign
of repair. There is a small spot of rust that has popped out to the left of the
right taillight. It is not a typical spot where rust appears so possibly an
incorrect paint preparation is the cause. The right rocker panel has a couple
small spots. The left side is fine.

According to the FUSI book, the
spread on the chassis numbers for the 1958 Giulietta spider Veloce cars is from
“1495*03233* to 1495 *05619”.
According to the D’Amico/Tabucchi
book, the spread is 03303 to 05669 with 05306 included specifically. About 835 were made only, 1958
