We have begun a program to identify the exact brown material used for the different Ferrari tool bags for the 275,330 and 365 series of cars . We could use your help. The photo samples we have received thus far of brown tool bags of the period have all been different. All the colors of brown and grains have been different. One of the craftsmen, in Italy that worked at Scaglietti during the 60's and 70's explained to us the rolls of material were bought here and there with no consistency. This has helped us understand the vast differences we have encountered thus far. From a smooth, almost patent leather style to a really aggressive almost bi-color brown. We can have the correct material made, in Italy, by the original factory once we identify the exact color and grain or at least identify a style that was more prevalent than others. Can you gear-heads out there send me a close-up photo of your old brown tool bag? A shot of the handle and straps showing the buckle style would be cool as well. We already have the black Daytona bags identified and made. Please add the chassis number of your car so that we can keep track.
